Mechanic

Job Introduction

As Mechanic you will be part of the operations team based in Breda, The Netherlands. The Mechanic is responsible for getting equipment repaired and maintained in a timely matter according the desired standards and make sure it is in top condition before send out to a jobsite. The Mechanic operates from the workshop in Breda and will work on various mechanical, hydraulic and electric systems. If interested, development possibility exists to be deployed worldwide after a thorough training in Breda.

Role Responsibility

  • Repairs SPMTs, winches, diesel engines, hydraulic pumps, cylinders, strand jacks, and all other equipment used in heavy lifting projects
  • Services power packs, trailers, jacking systems etc. to ensure equipment works at an optimal level. 
  • Diagnose and/or determine and solve mechanical, electrical, hydraulically and electronically problems 
  • Involved with trial fitting and assembly works of new ALE equipment
  • Make sure the workplace is tidy and be pro-active to identify and resolve health, safety and environment hazards
  • Basic administration such as maintenance reports / work orders / inspection sheets
  • Keep tools/equipment in top condition
  • Follow company policies and guidelines
  • To contribute to a co-operative working environment within the company

 

The Ideal Candidate

QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL

  • Minimum required:  Technical education (LBO/MBO level)

DESIRABLE

  • Mechanical / Hydraulic / Electrical MBO level 4 education
  • Qualifications in diesel engines, hydraulic and/or electric systems
  • VCA-VOL certificate
  • Rigging / slinging certificate
  • Certificate to drive Forklift truck, Cherry picker crane

KNOWLEDGE

ESSENTIAL

  • Basic knowledge of diesel, hydraulic or electrical mechanical repairs

DESIRABLE

  • HSEQ knowledge

EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL

  • Several years in technical sector

DESIRABLE

  • Experience in heavy duty equipment equipment
  • Experience in heavy lift / abnormal transport industry

SKILLS & ABILITIES

ESSENTIAL

  • Dutch oral and writing skills
  • Strong communicator
  • Eye for detail

DESIRABLE

  • Able to speak, read and write English 
  • Self-learning and researching
