Assistant Project Engineer (12 Month Undergraduate placement – Summer 2018)

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

Since our establishment in 1983, we have continued to grow through recruiting and developing talented people to perform these roles.  We are presently looking for engineering undergraduates to work with us, who are looking to complete an industrial placement between the Summer of 2018 and 2019.

Initially office based, you will make an important contribution using your CAD skills to design quality technical drawings of our projects.  Under the guidance of one of our engineers, your responsibilities will quickly evolve to include the production of Risk Assessments and Method Statements for our projects, along with route surveys and swept paths.

Within 6 months you can expect to be supporting our Project Engineers at one of our many sites, and from this point you will determine your progress.  You will receive comprehensive training support and coaching, monitored in the form of a detailed development plan.

There will be many opportunities for variety – both in the UK and beyond.  Our work is varied and every project has its unique challenges, so your flexibility, problem solving skills and communication skills will all be important.

The undergraduates who most enjoy placements with us are confident, technically very capable, have good CAD skills, can work without supervision and are flexible – both in the hours that they work, and where they work.

In return, we can give a very rare, and hugely rewarding, industrial placement experience that will set up your career and possibly give you the taste of a future with an exciting, growing and truly global engineering organisation.
