Role Responsibility

  • Create engineering solutions to clients’ heavy transport and installation requirements, working both on site and in the engineering office.
  • Attend site to conduct detailed surveys for the purposes of bids, feasibility analysis, routing and hazard identification, in order to develop a project methodology with calculations, swept path and installation drawings and full job specification.
  • Production and handover of Risk Assessments and Method Statement documentation (RAMS), equipment lists, engineering drawings, design calculations, rigging studies, operations programmes, plant and labour requirements for both proposals and the execution of works; ensuring these documents comply with company procedures, legislative guidance and good practice. Documents may need to be in either English or Mandarin to a high professional standard.
  • Attend kick off meetings with Commercial and Operations teams to establish the clients’ exact requirements and agree deadlines for submission of documentation, in both English and Mandarin.
  • Attend site during execution of the project, collaborating with and supporting the site supervisor and crew. Act as the main point of contact with the client on site with regards to coordination, project programme, engineering and HSQE issues.
  • Co-ordinate with other departments to ensure activities are compliant within ALE’s agreed scope and programme, with timely and suitable communication of any required changes.

The Ideal Candidate




  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, structural or other related engineering discipline


  • Period of study overseas, e.g. gap year or similar
  • Project Management qualification



  • Understanding of the service, construction and/or transport industries
  • Familiarity with service-delivery project life cycle
  • Fully versant with latest versions of AutoCAD software


  • In-depth knowledge of the heavy lifting and specialised transport sector
  • Contractual awareness



  • 2 years in a similar role


  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Previous work in the heavy lifting and transport, construction, petrochemical or related industry
  • Previous experience working abroad and/or with a diverse range of international companies, EPCs etc



  • Fluent in English and Mandarin (both verbal and written)
  • Good active knowledge of IT applications and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project)
  • Good communicator – written and verbal, able to work with people of all levels and cultures
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Able to solve ad-hoc problems quickly with clearly defined solutions


  • Competent use of other software such as ERP, Skype, 3-D Design, structural engineering



  • High level of self-motivation
  • Desire to learn new techniques and procedures

  • Organised


  • Effective Planner
  • Proactive



  • Current and valid driving license
  • Current and valid passport, no restrictions
  • Eligible to work in Taiwan
  • Flexibility is required, and willingness to travel frequently, inside and outside of Taiwan
