Field Technician

Job Introduction

As Field Technician you will be part of the operations team based in Breda, The Netherlands. The Field technician will mainly be deployed on global site locations as part of the operational site team. You are responsible for providing technical support during the operational phase of a project. You are able to diagnose and/or determine and solve mechanical, electrical, hydraulically and electronically problems. The Technician is capable of setting up, operating, inspecting and maintaining computer controlled systems. You look for improvements, share knowledge and provide hands on training for colleagues. When you are not deployed on site you will work in the workshop assisting the Yard Team with regular maintenance, project preparations and other daily activities.

Role Responsibility

  • Repairs SPMTs, winches, diesel engines, hydraulic pumps, cylinders, strand jacks, and all other equipment used in heavy lifting projects
  • Services power packs, trailers, jacking systems etc. to ensure equipment works at an optimal level
  • Reading and interpretation of mechanical and electrical schematics
  • Diagnose and/or determine and solve mechanical, electrical, hydraulically and electronically problems
  • Prepare, set up, check and operate computer controlled systems used on site
  • Make sure the workplace is tidy and be pro-active to identify and resolve health, safety and environment hazards
  • Basic administration such as maintenance reports / work orders / inspection sheets
  • Assist with site duties assigned by Site Supervisor
  • Follow company policies and guidelines
  • To contribute to a co-operative working environment within the company

The Ideal Candidate



  • Minimum required: Mechanical / Hydraulic / Electrical MBO level 4 education


  • Qualifications in diesel engines, hydraulic and/or electric systems
  • VCA-VOL certificate
  • Rigging / slinging certificate
  • Certificate to drive Forklift truck, Cherry picker crane



  • Knowledge of Diesel engines, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems


  • Strong knowledge of electronics (performing electrical maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting)
  • Advanced computer skills



  • Several years in technical sector


  • Heavy lift / transport industry
  • Working in an international environment with different cultures



  • Dutch and English fluent oral and writing skills
  • Strong communicator

  • Able to perform under heavy work load
