Finance Manager

Job Introduction

An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join the Management team based in our Shanghai office.

We are a growing business which is part of a global company working predominately in the Renewables, Oil, Gas and Mining Sectors.

Reporting to the General Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for the critical accounting and finance functions in the business.

You will already be qualified as a Chartered Accountant or Chartered Project Accountant, with some experience in project accounting already behind you.  Whilst there will not be significant requirements to travel, you will be required to travel periodically to Tianjin.

Excellent verbal and written English skills are essential.

Role Responsibility

  • Ensure integrity & accuracy of financial information
  • Responsible for financial month end process & reporting
  • Assist with new finance system implementation
  • Budgeting and accounting for projects and completing variance analysis
  • Timely & accurate preparation of management reports.
  • External compliance & reporting – VAT, WHT
  • Supply and coordinate information to external auditors
  • Supply information to internal auditors
  • Supply and coordinate information for Statutory Accounts & Tax Returns
  • Maintain integrity of General Ledger & sub-ledgers
  • Reconciliation of all General Ledger accounts
  • Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register
  • Managing the finance team

The Ideal Candidate



  • Qualified CPA or CA



  • Sound knowledge of taxation



  • Minimum 3 years' experience in financial accounting role
  • Proven project accounting experience



  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Good reconciliation skills



  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative as well as work as a member of a team
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Organised and self-motivated with effective time management skills and adaptability to maintain work output during times of pressure and deadlines
