Finance Manager

Job Introduction

ALE Heavylift (Australia) Pty Ltd is part of the ALE Group with offices in Brisbane, Melbourne and Gladstone. The business works predominately in the Renewables, Oil, Gas and Mining Sectors. The finance manager is the owner of all internal and external information reporting for the business unit including all financial & taxation controls and all reporting in line with the timetable, group policy and local regulations.

 

With multiple experiences in financial and management accounting, you will have excellent supervisory skills, strong software knowledge and be analytical. Your effective communication links with the commercial and operational managers will support their objectives of growing the business within the agreed control environment.

 

Always demonstrating best management practice, the ideal candidate will also be up to date with current regulations affecting the industry, and knowledgeable about company procedures and compliance issues.

Role Responsibility

  • Leading the finance team in their delivery of a finance framework for the entity, sales and contracting controls, purchasing controls, fixed assets.
  • Financial month end process & reporting – timely and accurate
  • Promote use of ERP system to maximise efficiency and output
  • External compliance & reporting – Taxation (Payroll tax Corp tax, FBT, GST), Stat Accounts
  • Manage the external audit process
  • Budgeting and Forecasting , annual and project based
  • Cash Management and Forecasting
  • Understand  finance resource requirements and review, appraise, train and recruit to meet the needs
  • Understand strategic objectives, plan and deliver the finance support required, across all areas including project delivery, investment (fixed assets, people, and working capital), risks and mitigating factors, confirmation of internal control

 

The Ideal Candidate

QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL - Qualified Accountant (CA or CPA)

KNOWLEDGE

ESSENTIAL

·      Financial controls and reporting within a large group

·        Sound knowledge of taxation

EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL

·       Proven project accounting experience ideally in a similar industry

·        Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar financial management role

·        Leading a team

DESIRABLE

·      Working in an international, multi-branch team across different countries

SKILLS & ABILITIES

ESSENTIAL

·        Excellent communication skills – Fluent verbal and written in English

·        Strong systems experience and a focus on utilising technology

·        Ability to identify and implement changes effectively

·        Focus on commercial outcomes

·        Ability to work autonomously and take initiative as well as work as a member of a team.
