Logistics Coordinator

Job Introduction

As Logistics Coordinator you will be part of the Operations Team based in our Breda office and responsible for co-ordinating all shipping activities to and from our project locations worldwide. Your role will be key in ensuring that all equipment is shipped on time and in the most cost efficient way. Outsourcing road, air and sea transport, preparing of import/export documents, keeping the ERP system updated, support sales and project management with your knowledge of international shipping, attend project meetings, are some of your daily activities. No shipment is the same, they may vary from a small package by mail to 150 containers sea transport or 500t breakbulk, which makes this role especially challenging. Role Responsibility

  • Organize, monitor and plan all logistics activities within our company
  • Prepare loading instructions for all logistic activities in our ERP system
  • Inform operational/yard personnel about transport planning and loading instructions
  • Subcontracting and/or purchasing transports (ship, road and air transport)
  • Supplier management of 3rd party carriers, incl. contract negotiation and evaluation
  • Ensure that all transactions are correct registered in the ERP system
  • Arranging custom clearances and import/export documents of ALE equipment Worldwide
  • Optimize logistic processes and systems on a strategic level
  • Ensuring that transports are carried out efficient and cost-effective
  • Attending project meetings when required
  • Maintaining the logistic budget and planning for our projects
  • Receiving drivers at yard and instruct them about house, health and safety rules
  • Give support to sales team with: transport quotations, transit times and import/export cost etc.
  • Managing company vehicles, plan maintenance, mot, permits, mileage registration etc.
  • Report on a regular basis to Project Managers about project related issues
  • Report on a regular basis to the Operations Manager
  • Pro-active approach toward upcoming demands and identifying of possible bottlenecks in an early stage
  • Support operational team with daily tasks
  • Contribute to a co-operative working environment within the company

The Ideal Candidate



  • Minimum required:  Education in Logistics or equivalent experience in either Logistics or Business Management



  • Knowledge of transport documentation related to import/export
  • Knowledge of incoterms


  • Knowledge of the heavy lift, transport and engineering industry
  • Negotiating and supplier management knowledge
  • Knowledge of systems and procedures



  • Experience with shipping goods outside EU
  • Experience with customs and import/export processes


  • Experience in heavy lift industry
  • Experience with ERP system IFS



  • Goal and task driven skills
  • Excellent oral and written Dutch and English skills
  • Microsoft office (Excel / Word / PowerPoint / Outlook)


  • Oral and/or written French, Spanish and/or German skills are an asset
  • Negotiation
