Maintenance & Equipment Supervisor

Job Introduction

ALE Heavylift  is a complete engineered solution provider for heavylift cranage, lifting, transportation, installation,  jacking & weighing large, heavy loads. We are seeking applications from suitably experienced Maintenance Supervisor for on site maintenance and fleet repair work in the Ballarat area and various other project locations in Australia for immediate start.

Role Responsibility

Main Responsibilities

Maintenance and overseeing the following:

  • Cranes
  • Trucks and trailers
  • LV vehicles
  • Reporting and uploading of the Maintenance reports to IFC (Training will be given by ALE) 
  • Planning service of all plant with Operations
  • Training of staff for the Maintenance department
  • Organising and supervising technicians and apprentices for daily jobs.
  • Service and repairs planning and scheduling for all ALE Heavylift equipment, aiming to maximize equipment availability for operations.
  • Guiding technicians on repair, daily support in repair process.
  • Being on-site, servicing and repair of equipment
  • Assist with service and maintenance and equipment set up work as required.
  • Procurement of parts for service and repair – sourcing competitive prices and raising purchase orders, as per procurement procedure and relevant authorisation limits.
  • Ensuring services are carried out as due and equipment is maintained in safe working order to company and legislative standards and requirements.
  • Providing daily job cards to technicians and checking job card after completion. Input data into ERP system.
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers as required for planning, scheduling and procurement.
  • Monitoring job progress and updating workshop jobs in the database.
  • Attending weekly planning and maintenance meetings.

The Ideal Candidate

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE

ESSENTIAL

  • Crane operator ticket
  • HC or MC driving license

DESIREABLE

 

  • Risk Assessment Training

 

EXPERIENCE

DESIREABLE

  • Relevant experience within the heavy lifting and transport industry
  • Working within an engineering department (2+ years post graduate)
  • Significant on-site working experience.
  • Knowledge of the heavylift / transport sector.
  • Relevant experience/knowledge with weld inspection techniques.

SKILLS

ESSENTIAL

  • Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel are required.

DESIREABLE

  • High level of AutoCAD
  • Project Planning Software

  • Flexibilty is required, and willingness to undertake travel and work for short periods away from normal place of work (worldwide).
  • Current and valid driving license
  • Current and valid passport, no restrictions
