Job Introduction

ALE is currently looking for operators with experience across the whole range of heavy lifting and transport operations and equipment, however if you have experience working with Strand Jacks (and possibly transport equipment as well) then this could be the perfect role for you.  As a strand jack operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining strand jacks on various sites and projects. You will be an integral member of the ALE team and will have a full and varied role.

Role Responsibility

  • Operation of strand jacks including preparation, assembly, and erection of strand jack systems.
  • Drive, load / offload, mobilise  and operation of trailers, installation, rigging and general maintenance.
  • Guide / train other team members where necessary.
  • Liaise on a daily basis with the operations manager and / or line manager.
  • Complete daily checks of all plant equipment in your care.
  • Focus on Health and Safety must be a natural part of your mindset.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with legal, company and client requirements.

The Ideal Candidate

EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL

  • Experience with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role

DESIRABLE

  • 2 or more years’ hands-on experience specifically with strand jacks and SPMT
  • Relevant experience in the construction, petrochemical or related industries

SKILLS & ABILITIES

ESSENTIAL

  • Fluent in the English language, both oral and written
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff
  • Must be able to work as part of a team
  • Must possess the ability to learn new techniques and procedures

DESIRABLE

  • The ability to invent and put forward new methods of work and or modifications to existing systems
  • Able to solve ad-hoc problems quickly with clearly defined solutions
  • Clear concise communicator – written and verbal
  • Able to adapt communication style
