R&D Control System Engineer

Job Introduction

The role of the Control System Engineer is to control and execute all  software-, electric- and hydraulic-engineering activities of a project . This contains setting up a functional software designs, programming, testing and supporting on site according to the project requirements.

Role Responsibility

• Maintain the engineering budget and planning
• Setting up and maintaining functional designs
• Searching and ordering hardware components
• Testing software in simulations programs
• Setting up testing procedures and execute these on a test setup
• Programming software and maintaining this software
• Applying control and measure technique
• Setting new systems in full operating mode on site
• Supporting new systems on site
• On site trouble shouting when warnings, errors or alarms may occur
• Educating supervisors and operators about the new systems on site
• Working close with the supervisors and operators for improving current systems
• Report on a regular basis to the R&D manager
• Contribute to a co-operative working environment within the company

The Ideal Candidate


• HBO Mechatronics or experience in a similar education or job
• Experience with software packages
• Siemens STEP 7
• Programming according to IEC 61508 in CoDeSys
• WinMOD (privilege)
• English oral and writing
• Knowledge of hydraulics


• Experience in a comparable position is preferable


• Willingnes of learning pro-active


• Responsible
• Accurate
• Flexibility is required and willingness to travel frequently, inside and outside of the Netherlands
