Sales Manager

Job Introduction

The Sales Manager is tasked to develop strong relationships with customers both proactively as reactively. Our ideal candidate can identify customer needs and creatively translate them into innovative transport and lifting solutions which makes you both a technical as commercial specialist. The sales activities are focused on customers in The Netherlands and Belgium but as these projects also take place elsewhere in the world, traveling overseas may be required. The Sales Managers role requires a motivated self-starter who is not afraid to approach new customers and leads.

Role Responsibility

  • To identify and contact new prospects
  • To visit clients and exhibitions
  • To develop a customer focused project solution
  • To work out complete quotations together with the Tender Team
  • To assure that offers are send in time
  • To take care of an accurate and timely follow up
  • To manage customer database within our CRM system
  • To analyze sales and customer trends and report them to the Sales Director
  • To manage sales projects in a structured way
  • To arrange a profitable, predictable and growing revenue stream of projects in the defined geographic area
  • To report on a regular basis to the Sales Director
  • To contribute to a co-operative sales environment within the company
  • Handover project information to Project Manager and Operations Department for job execution

The Ideal Candidate


  • Knowledge of Heavy lifting and Engineering (Commercial / Technical education is a benefit)
  • Intermediate Excel / Word / PowerPoint / Outlook


  • Knowledge of Contracts
  • Good commercial acumen



  • Experience in a similar field/discipline
  • Prepared to travel
  • Proven track record of closing deals successfully


  • Heavy lifting background
  • Experience with CRM system
  • Experience with the Nuclear Industry


  • Negotiating Skills
  • Goal and task driven skills
  • Excellent oral and written Dutch and English skills


  • Oral and/or written German/French skills
  • Innovative thinking
