Sales Manager-Malaysia

Job Introduction

The purpose of this role is to support implementation of sales strategies and plans for the ALE Heavylift Malaysia business.  You are responsible for achieving objectives and targets with pre assigned key customers. Whenever directed, the Sales Manager also develops new business from potential customers.

You will be an experienced sales person with an understanding of engineering and project management.  You will enjoy both communicating with clients and helping them to solve problems.

The marketplace in the region is diverse with opportunities in a number of different sectors. You will have the drive and self-confidence to hunt out these opportunities, and then the tenacity to turn them into sales.

This involves the development and maintenance of commercial relationships with designated key accounts to achieve forecast sales targets.

Role Responsibility

  • Maintain reliable and effective relationships with existing Key Malaysian clients.
  • Develop new relationships with key Malaysian Accounts and promote seamless integrations and co-ordination between the various disciplines across the ALE Malaysia Business.
  • Whenever directed, identify potential new sales opportunities and integrate these into the regional business development strategy.
  • Maintain and increase sales of the Company.
  • Prepare and deliver effective presentations and proposals that implement approved marketing material and objectives.
  • Report and recommend effective strategies to enhance the commercial position of ALE within the Malaysian market.
  • Use his best endeavour’s to promote the interests of the Company and its Associated Companies.
  • Develop timely and accurate forecasts for assigned accounts and revise throughout the year.
  • Fulfil other duties as may be required.

The Ideal Candidate






Min. Diploma in technical/ engineering discipline


Degree educated – ideally in an engineering discipline

MBA in sales & marketing



Worked with project forwarding / heavy lifting and transport markets


Oil and gas, power and heavy industries




Track record of closing deals and achieving / exceeding sales targets



Commercial experience in the civil, oils and gas, power generation, renewable energy markets

More than 5 years working experience in Malaysia




Work in a challenging environment

Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel / Word / PowerPoint / Outlook

Excellent spoken and written English 

Capable of writing proposal documents in English to an appropriate business standard

Able to identify prospective business opportunities


Confident presenter

Good analytical ability

Outgoing and friendly

Goal and task driven

High level of self-motivation and self-management

Tenacious and energetic

Having valid Malaysian driving license

Full passport for overseas travel whenever necessary
