Supervisor

Job Introduction

ALE is currently looking for a Supervisor with experience across the whole range of heavy lifting and transport operations and equipment, however if you have experience working with Strand Jacks (and possibly transport equipment as well) then this could be the perfect role for you.  As a supervisor you will be responsible for leading the team and managing operational projects on various sites. You will be an integral member of the ALE team and will have a full and varied role.

Role Responsibility

  • Supervise the operation of strand jacks including preparation, assembly, and erection of strand jack systems.
  • Drive, load / offload, mobilise and operation of trailers, installation, rigging and general maintenance.
  • Manage the operational team on site and / or at the yard
  • Monitor operational site budget and report any potential variations or deviations from agreed scope of work to the project manager
  • Ensure all pre-operational checks are carried out and recorded, and report any deviations and / or malfunctions of equipment in a timely manner. When equipment has been reassembled post-transport, ensure a functional test is carried out on site
  • Attend and participate in project meetings as required
  • Ensure that all work is carried out according to the method statement
  • Deliver, organize and attend toolbox talks and kick-off meetings at the beginning of each project
  • To communicate regularly with the client, project manager, and operations manager during the project in a professional manner.
  • Carry out and record site inspections at the beginning of a project or phase
  • Ensure that all Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) requirements are met, and promote and participate in all HSQE and training initiatives such as SSOT
  • Carry out route surveys when required
  • Support the operations manager with annual performance review of operational employees
  • To contribute to a co-operative working environment within the company

QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL

  • Supervisory qualification

KNOWLEDGE

ESSENTIAL

  • Clear understanding of hydraulic lifting and transport equipment and its use

EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL

  • Hands-on experience with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role/industry

DESIRABLE

  • 5 or more years’ hands-on experience specifically with strand jacks and SPMT
  • Relevant experience in the petrochemical, construction or similar industry for a minimum of two years

SKILLS & ABILITIES

ESSENTIAL

  • Fluent in English, both oral and written
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff
  • Must be able to work as part of, and lead a team
  • Must possess the ability to learn new techniques and procedures
  • Able to invent and put forward new methods of work and or modifications to existing systems
  • Able to solve ad-hoc problems quickly with clearly defined solutions

DESIRABLE

  • Clear concise communicator – written and verbal
  • Able to adapt communication style
